On parole, Ram Rahim cuts cake with sword, video goes viral

Chandigarh: Dera chief Ram Rahim, who is serving a jail term in a rape case, has come out on a 40-day parole. After coming out of Sunaria jail in Haryana, he reached Barnawa Ashram in Baghpat on Saturday.

Now a video of Ram Rahim celebrating by cutting a cake with a sword is going viral on social media.

In his bail plea, Ram Rahim had said he wanted to attend an event to mark the birth anniversary of former Dera chief Shah Satnam Singh on January 25.

In a purported video that has surfaced on social media, the Dera chief can be heard saying, “After five years, I have got a chance to celebrate like this, so I should cut at least five cakes. This is the first cake.”

Public display of weapons (cutting a cake with a sword) is prohibited under the Arms Act.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is serving a life sentence in Sunaria jail in a rape and murder case. Gurmeet Ram Rahim singh was escorted by a convoy of more than half a dozen vehicles from Sunaria jail in Rohtak to Barnawa Ashram by Baghpat police of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

The main gate was closed as soon as Ram Rahim entered the ashram. It was told that the entry of devotees inside the ashram has been banned. Circle Officer Baghpat DK Sharma said that following the rules of parole, no crowd will be allowed in the ashram. If the rules are violated, action will also be taken.

Station House Officer Binauli Saleem Ahmed said that Gurmeet Ram Rahim was accompanied by Honeypreet and family members. At the same time, Ram Rahim has been given security when he comes to Baghpat district. Police force was deployed at the main gate of the Dera. Now there is a strict police guard at the gate of the ashram.
