Noida’s Supertech twin towers demolished within seconds

Noida: Supertech’s twin towers in Noida were demolished at 2.30 pm today. There was a loud explosion and there were clouds of dust everywhere. The action comes a year after the Supreme Court ordered the demolition of these illegally constructed twin towers.

The tower, about 100 meters high, was demolished in a matter of seconds.

These towers, higher than delhi’s famous Qutub Minar (73 meters), were demolished with the help of ‘waterfall implosion’ technology. Earlier, at least 5,000 people living in two societies located near the towers were evacuated.

The evacuation of residents from Emerald Court and ATS Village Society was supposed to be completed by 7 am but it took some time. Lpg and power supply was cut off in two societies in Sector 93A.
