At the same time, China again threatened the US to face the consequences when she reached Taiwan, saying that the US was ready to face the consequences.
China has already warned the US that if Nancy Pelosi goes to Taiwan, the outcome will not be good. Despite these threats, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has reached Taiwan.
This is the first visit to Taiwan by a senior U.S. official in 25 years.
According to Japanese media reports, 8 American fighter jets and 5 refueling aircraft had taken off from the US military base before his visit. These were going to provide parameter protection for the plane of the Pelosi.
