Monkeypax is not a matter of concern at the international level: WHO

Geneva: After Corona, the world has been scared by a disease called Monkeypox. The WHO said after a meeting that Monkeypox was not a cause for international concern at the moment.

In fact, the WHO Director General seems to agree with the advice given by the IHR Emergency Committee on this disease. At the moment, Monkeypax is not a matter of concern at the international level.

However, WHO Director-General Tedros Edronam Ghebreyesus expressed his concern about monkeypax, and Tedros Edronam Ghebreyesus said there was a need to act immediately to prevent the further spread of the monkeypakes virus.

Outside West and Central African countries, there has been a rise in monkeypox cases since the beginning of May. Most of the new cases have been reported in Western Europe. Tedros said, “The emergency committee shared serious concerns about the scale and speed of the current outbreak.”
