Manish Sisodia moves Supreme Court against arrest in Delhi liquor policy case

New Delhi: The CBI on Sunday arrested Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia for failing to cooperate during questioning in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.

Now Sisodia has approached the Supreme Court to protest against his arrest on Tuesday.

His lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi requested the Chief Justice to hear the matter at the earliest. To which the CJI said that he should go to the High Court or adopt other legal options. However, on the request of lawyer Singhvi, the Chief Justice said that the hearing will be held after a while.

On the other hand, CBI’s interrogation of Manish Sisodia has started. The CBI has prepared a long list of questions for Sisodia. This is the first time Sisodia is being questioned after his arrest. According to sources, the CBI has once again started a fresh interrogation.

Sisodia has been sent to five-day custody. He was granted five-day custody by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court, following which Special Judge M.K. Nagpal remanded Sisodia in custody till March 4.
