Kapurthala: A woman was strangled to death by her husband over a trivial domestic issue in Kasabha locality here on Saturday.
Deceased has been identified as Shabiya. Police have sent the body for post-mortem examinations to the local civil hospital.
Kapurthala city police launched the investigation and preliminary investigation revealed that deceased’s husband Mohammad Jashin was working as a tailor and they had a fight over some petty issue following which he strangled her to death, police said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh said that a case under Section 302 (murder) has been registered into the matter and accused will be held soon.
