Major landslide in HP; 2 died, 40 others feared buried under debris

Himachal Pradesh: In a catastrophic incident,  two persons were killed and over 40 others feared buried under the debris after a massive landslide trapped on Wednesday near Neugal Sari area here.

In the incident, an HRTC bus, a truck and some other vehicles were reportedly hit by the landslide.
The driver of the bus was reportedly thrown out of the vehicle due to the impact of the slide. The driver is in a state of shock and is undergoing treatment at a local hospital, authorities said.
Following the information, the Kinnaur DC and SP are on their way to the landslide spot, which is about 70 km from district headquarters Reckong Peo.
Shocking videos of the horrendous incident went viral on social media. The teams of Army, ITBP, police and Home Guard officials are enrolled in the rescue operation but it is yet to ascertain that how many number of vehicles were trapped in the slide and causalities were yet to be ascertained.
As per the information, there were around 25 passengers in the bus. The rescue operation has also been hampered as shooting stones are still rolling down the hill, said, Local MLA Jagat Singh Negi said adding one person has been rescued.
Meanwhile, the bus was on its way from Rampur to Nichhar when the tragedy struck.

On July 25, nine persons were killed and three others injured after heavy boulders fell on a tempo traveller carrying 11 persons near Batseri on the Sangla-Chitkul road. Nine persons were killed and two injured.
