London: British Foreign Minister Liz Truss today defeated former Indian-origin chancellor Rishi Sunak in the conservative party leader’s election.
She will now formally take over as the Prime Minister of England in place of Boris Johnson. She is the third woman after Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May to become the Prime Minister of England.
Truss received 81,326 votes and Sunak 60,399 votes.
