Istanbul bombing suspect arrested, 6 killed in attack

New Delhi: Police have arrested the suspect who carried out the blast in Istanbul, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said on Monday.

The explosion took place on Sunday on a busy shopping street in Istanbul, Turkey. According to the agency, six people have been killed and 81 injured in this attack.

A video was also revealed on Twitter in which the blast was clearly seen. In the footage, many people were seen walking on the famous Istiklal shopping street. A few seconds later, there was an explosion and a loud bang was heard.

The area where the blast took place is surrounded by avenues, shops and restaurants. It is usually crowded as it is very popular among tourists and locals. At the same time, after getting information about the blast, the local police cordoned off the entire area.

On the basis of cctv camera footage installed in the vicinity, it was trying to identify the attackers. After the incident, a large number of security forces have been deployed at the blast site.

A senior journalist from Istanbul, said they were a short distance from the scene. He had told from Istaklal Main Street of Susanne Metro that he had heard the sound of a blast. The blast came from Sushane’s downhill side. There are embassies near the spot. There was an atmosphere of tension after the blast.
