ISIS claims responsibility for Kabul Gurdwara attack, for insult of Prophet Muhammed by BJP leaders

Kabul: ISIS took responsibility for attack at the Gurdwara in Kabul, Afghanistan for the “insult” of Prophet Mohammed by former BJP leaders.

The controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammad by BJP leaders, there has been opposition from the muslim community in many parts of the country and the world.

The BJP had suspended Nupur Sharma and expelled Naveen Jindal from the party on June 5 amid the escalating controversy.

ISIS, in a message posted on its site, said Hindus, Sikhs and “anti-religious” were targeted in Saturday’s attack. The gurdwara in Kabul was attacked by terrorists on Saturday morning. Two people were killed and at least seven others were injured in the attack.

Ministry spokesman Abdul Nafi Tacor said the attackers hurled at least one grenade and set it on fire as soon as they entered the gurdwara.

Recently, the Indian delegation and the Taliban met in Kabul. There were also talks on many issues. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi had said the Indian team will try to visit several places in Afghanistan where India-backed projects and programmes are being implemented. At the same time, the Taliban urged India to consider working in trade with Afghanistan as well.
