Officials further said that around a dozen buildings were damaged. According to the US Geological Survey, the quake was centered in the Sianjur region of West Java province, with a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).

Local officials in Sianjur district said dozens of buildings, including houses, were damaged. Strong tremors were felt in the Greater Jakarta region. Skyscrapers in the capital shook for over three minutes and some were evacuated.
