London: As the largest group of foreign students studying in the UK, Indian students have overtaken Chinese students for the first time. This has been revealed in the official immigration data of Britain released today.
According to the data, this has been possible with a 273 percent increase in the number of visas given to Indian students in the last few years.
Data from the UK Home Office, compiled by the Office of National Statistics (ONS), shows that Indians top the list of visa recipients in the category of skilled workers. Accordingly, 56,042 Indians were granted visas in this category last year.
