New Delhi: The Indian team, which failed to make it to the quarter-finals straight after a poor performance against a weak Wales team, will have to put all their efforts in the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup against New Zealand here on Sunday.
India must win the match at any cost. India needed an eight-goal win over Wales in their last Pool D match to make it straight to the quarterfinals but the Indian forward could win the match 4-2.
India will now have to beat third-placed New Zealand in Pool C to reach the quarterfinals. India is currently ranked sixth in the world rankings while New Zealand is ranked 12th.
