India reports nearly 10% jump in 24 hours, 5,880 new COVID-19 cases reported; Mock drill in country today

New Delhi: Covid-19 infection cases are increasing rapidly once again in the country. Looking at the latest figures, there is a jump of about 10 percent in new cases in India in 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, 5,880 new Covid-19 cases have been reported, taking the number of active patients to 35,199.

A total of 220.66 crore vaccine doses (95.21 crore second doses and 22.87 crore precautionary doses) have been administered so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive in the country. In the last 24 hours, 205 doses have been administered.

The recovery rate in the country currently stands at 98.73 per cent, the data stated. As many as 3,481 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,41,96,318.

The daily positivity rate stands at 6.91 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 3.67 per cent. In the last 24 hours, 85,076 tests were conducted to identify new cases of Corona, taking the number of corona tests done so far to 92.28 crore.

Meanwhile, the health department is conducting a mock drill to check preparations of hospitals amid rising cases of Covid-19 across the country on Monday.
