‘I am buying Manchester United’: Elon Musk

Washington: Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, tweeted on Wednesday that he is buying Manchester United, an English soccer club.

He, however, later clarified on social media that no, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams,” he said while replying to a user.

Actually, it is impossible to guess how serious Musk is about his tweets. But this news caused an uproar in the Manchester United camp and on social media. Due to the club’s poor performance in recent years, Manchester United’s current American boss Glazer is considering leaving it. There are a lot of reactions on social media for Musk’s tweet. In this sequence, a Twitter user asked, “Do you really think he wants to buy Manchester? Or is it just nonsense.” He later refuted the reports.

Referring to the Tesla CEO’s legal battle on Twitter, a user hit out at Musk and pointed to the deal that didn’t materialise. Another user said, “You don’t want to buy this, trust me this guy made a deal to buy twitter for 44 billion USD without thinking, then realized it was a bad deal and backed out, now he is being prosecuted.”
