Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has reprimanded the Punjab Police in the case of Amritpal Singh. “Punjab Police has 80,000 personnel, yet how is Amritpal absconding? What were your 80,000 policemen doing? How did he run away?”
The court said that this is an intelligence failure of the Punjab Police. During the hearing, the Punjab Police told the court that NSA has also been imposed on Amritpal Singh and it has so far arrested more than 120 associates of Amritpal.
The court said that we do not believe in the police story. The court has asked the Punjab Police to file a status report.
Amritpal Singh is still on the run. For the last four days, the police have been looking for him. The car in which he escaped has also been recovered by the police. The Punjab government told the court that the National Security Act (NSA) has been imposed on Amritpal Singh.
