How a college drop-out Amritpal Singh became a wanted person in Punjab

Chandigarh: Amritpal Singh of Village Jallupur Khera in Baba Bakala Tehsil is a drop-out of multi-technical college in Kapurthala. After that he went to Dubai to become a truck driver and went on to move on to the transport business. When he suddenly becomes the head of ‘Waris Punjab De’, there is a political stir and the intelligence wing is immediately alert. He becomes the focal point in Punjab’s politics within days.

First, Amritpal Singh started the Waheer Yatra, but an atmosphere of fear is created in the state when a violent clash took place between his supporters and police in Ajnala. The Punjab Police has launched a search operation to arrest Amritpal for three days. Amritpal was about to embark on the second Khalsa Wahir Yatra before the police swung into action. The police have been on their toes for past three days.

Every corner of the state is being searched for arrest. Amritpal is still out of police custody.

Sources say that the police feared that the delay could lead to the situation out of control. On Saturday, the police swung into action but Amritpal Singh managed to escape. According to the details, Amritpal Singh was first entered on the social media app ‘Clubhouse’. According to sources, Amritpal Singh was not very close to the late Deep Sidhu and this has also been revealed by Deep Sidhu’s brother Mandeep Sidhu.

Amritpal Singh becomes the new head of ‘Waris Punjab De’ after the death of Deep Sidhu in a road accident. However, Amritpal was not an Amritdhari Sikh at that time. He reached Sri Anandpur Sahib on September 25, 2022. He had not been very active for some time before that. When Amritpal Singh reaches Rode, the native village of the late Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, Amritpal Singh’s turban is tied as per the Sikh ceremonies.

Later, Amritpal Singh launched Amrit prachar abhiyan as well as started campaigning against drugs. He opposes the facility of chairs to devotees in the two Guru ghars of Jalandhar. The Punjab government watches all this quietly and finally when Amritpal Singh plans the second Khalsa Wahir Yatra, the government seems to be worried.

Central and state intelligence agencies had already started picking up the clues. Now as a joint operation by the central and state government, the arrests of Amritpal Singh’s supporters have been made. Punjab Police is in trouble from inside due to the attack on Ajnala police station. In a span of about a year, Amritpal rapidly moves towards the top and finally there is speculation of down fall.
