Chandigarh: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court against Punjab for compensating it for the loss of Rs 1.33 crore per day due to closure of toll fees by protesters.
In a petition filed against the state, director general of police and eight deputy commissioners, the NHAI has said it had suffered a loss of Rs 1,348.77 crore due to closure of toll plazas 440 days ago.
Jn a petition before Justice Vinod S. Bhardwaj, the NHAI said that as a result of the stoppage of collection of toll fee by the protesters, there has been a financial loss to the exchequer of the central government.
