Health Department issues advisory on ‘Seasonal Flu’, know what is H3N2 virus

Chandigarh: The Health Department has issued an advisory regarding H3N2 seasonal influenza. Though the situation in the state is normal, the department has issued this advisory as a precautionary measure.

The advisory states that if someone shows symptoms of influenza such as high fever, difficulty in breathing, blue in color, any kind of stain on the skin, then go to your nearest health center and consult a doctor. It has been said that patients are recovering with medicines.

Also, not many patients have been admitted to hospitals. Apart from this, make sure to get tested if you have symptoms. Apart from this, it has also been asked not to take any medicine without the advice of a doctor. Patients who are infected with the H3N2 strain of the influenza-A virus have a high fever for 2-3 days. There is pain in the body, headache, burning sensation in the throat as well as cough and chest tightness for two weeks in a row.

The H3N2 virus is a mutant variant of H1N1 of influenza A, which can prey to anyone of any age and at any time of the year. The symptoms can be similar to those of any other seasonal flu, including coughing, runny nose, nausea, physical pain, vomiting and diarrhea.

Cover the nose and mouth when Coughing or sneezing

Avoid going to crowded places

Wash your hands with water and soap from time to time.

Keep yourself hydrated, keep taking water, juice or other fluids

Avoid any kind of physical contact
