Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s interview not from Punjab jail, says DGP Yadav

Chandigarh: Two days after the interview by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi form jail, Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav on Thursday attempted to clarify the situation by holding a press conference in Chandigarh. Putting the facts related to Lawrence in a systematic manner, the DGP claimed that the interview did not take place inside Punjab.

Pertinently, The Punjab Police came on the back foot after gangster Bishnoi gave an interview from jail, the main accused in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

The DGP also produced photos of Lawrence of claiming to be of March 9, March 14 and March 16 to prove his claim. In these photos taken during his appearance in Bathinda jail and Talwandi Sabo court, Lawrence is seen in a short haircut and trim beard, while in an interview released on a TV channel on March 14, his beard was enlarged and his head hair was also long.

However, amidst these claims of the DGP, the question still remains as to where Lawrence was interviewed.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the Rajasthan Police handed over gangster Lawrence back to Bathinda jail on March 8 on completion of his remand. On March 9, Lawrence was produced before the Talwandi Sabo court in Bathinda and taken on one-day police remand. On March 10, Lawrence was brought back to Bathinda jail.

The DGP said that in an interview aired on a channel on March 14, Lawrence was wearing a yellow T-shirt and his beard and head hair looked long. On March 10, when Lawrence was brought to Bathinda jail, he was in a short haircut and a beard was also trimmed. The DGP said that after this interview, Lawrence’s luggage was searched in Bathinda jail but no yellow T-shirt was found in it.

Making Lawrence’s dress and haircut the base, he described his interview as old and said that interview was done out of Punjab jail and put question on the Rajasthan jail authorities.
