Gangster Jora injured in encounter between police and gangster in Zirakpur

Chandigarh: An encounter broke out between police and gangsters near Zirakpur and gangster Yuvraj Singh alias Jora has been injured in the encounter.

Constable Kuldeep Singh Bajwa, who was martyred in the Phillaur firing incident, in which the main accused Yuvraj Singh alias Jora, was absconding.

The accused Jora was staying in a hotel named ‘Alps’ at Dhakoli in Zirakpur under the fake identity of Ramzan Malik. Acting on a tip-off, a team of AGTF led by AIG Sandeep Goyal and DSP Bikram Brar cordoned off hotel ‘Alps’ and confirmed the presence of accused Jora in room number 105 of the hotel from the manager of the hotel.

This confirmation resulted in the AGTF team offering to surrender to the accused. But accused Zora opened fire on the AGTF team. After which the AGTF also fired back and in this immediate encounter, it is being told that Jora was hit by police bullets in both legs.

According to top police officials, the gangster was admitted to the GMCH Hospital in Sector 32, Chandigarh, which is undergoing treatment. Two pistols of 32 caliber were also recovered from the accused.
