New Delhi: Following a cloud burst near the Amarnath Cave, ten people have died in the accident while over 50 are stated to be missing.
NDRF, SDRF and other support agencies have been enrolled for the rescue operation and it underway at the spot. Damages are also reported in many tents of pilgrims. It is being told that the cloudburst occurred at around 5:30 pm today.
The ITBP PRO said the situation is under control, rain is still continuing. The Amarnath Yatra has been temporarily halted due to waterlogging in the area in view of the danger level. If the weather remains normal and temporary arrangements are made, the yatra can be resumed from tomorrow. The injured are being airlifted for treatment.
