Dera follower accused of sacrilege murdered in Punjab’s Kotkapura

Chandigarh: A Dera follower, Pardeep Singh, who is facing charges of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib, was shot dead by unidentified persons in Kotkapura this morning.

A security guard of the Dera premi and an MC, Amar Singh Virdi, who was standing nearby, were also reported to have been shot in the attack.

Dera follower Pardeep Singh was accused of scattering the Holy letters of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in the streets. He was reading newspapers outside his house when assailants opened fire at him, police said.
