Dense fog disrupts normal life in Punjab, Haryana

Chandigarh: Foggy conditions affected normal life at several places in Haryana and Punjab this morning. The minimum temperature dropped below normal in some parts of the two states. Due to fog, the visibility was reduced and there was a risk of accidents.

The situation prevailed in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Pathankot, Adampur, Bathinda and Faridkot in Punjab.

Gurdaspur was the coldest place in the state with a minimum temperature of five degrees Celsius. Amritsar recorded a minimum temperature of 8.4 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana 8 degrees, Patiala 8.2 degrees, Bathinda 5.8 degrees and Mohali 8.3 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, Mahendergarh was the coldest at 4.9 degrees Celsius, followed by Hisar at 6.7 degrees Celsius, Karnal at 8.2, Ambala at 8.4, Bhiwani at 6.2, Sirsa at 9.2 and Rohtak at 8.6 degrees Celsius.
