Jalandhar: Congress MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh from Jalandhar was cremated. His last journey started from Football Chowk in Jalandhar city and reached his native village Dhaliwal Kadian on Kala Sanghia Road.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also paid last tribute to him. His son, MLA Vikramjit Chaudhary, bid him farewell.
The MP died of a heart attack yesterday at the age of 76 while walking on the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Phillaur. He was walking with Rahul Gandhi when he collapsed.
He died before reaching the hospital. After which Rahul Gandhi postponed the yatra till the funeral. Rahul Gandhi also attend his funeral.
Renowned environmentalist Padmashri Sant Balvir Singh Seechewal visited the house of MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh. He expressed sympathies with the MP’s family. Seechewal is also an Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab.
