Christian society moves HC for safety after Church vandalised in Punjab

Chandigarh: The National Christian League has filed a petition in the High Court after vandalism and car burning at a church in Tarn Taran.

After the incident, there is a clamour among the Christian community of strengthening security of churches and the followers.

Earlier, they had also submitted a memorandum letter to CM Bhagwant Mann.

HC to issue directions to Punjab Police and government

National Christian League president Jagdish Masih and Chandigarh resident Sukhjinder Gill said it was important to maintain peace and brotherhood in Punjab. For this, the HC has sought strict instructions to the Punjab government and the police.

 

Vandalism in Tarn Taran

A few days ago, a church in Tarn Taran was attacked by some people at midnight. Miscreants vandalised the head of the statue of Lord Jesus and Mother Mary outside the church. The priest’s car was also set on fire. The Christian brotherhood also had to stage a dharna for justice in this regard. The entire incident was caught on CCTV camera.
