Chandigarh: The Punjab government has removed Manisha Gulati, chairperson of the Women’s Commission, from her post.
During the Congress government, she was given an extension of this post for 3 years. However, the order issued by the Social Welfare Department states that there is no provision for extension. Therefore, the said order is being withdrawn.
While in office, Manisha Gulati has received appreciation for her work from people on the social media. During the Covid-19 period, when people were losing their jobs, she honored the women who started new startups by going to the field.
She worked to reduce atrocities on women. She took up the matter seriously before foreign governments to give rights to the victims of NRI youth.
