Bharat Biotech’s anti-corona nasal vaccine launched, know benefits and cost

New Delhi: Another weapon has been found in the fight against the Corona epidemic. India’s first nasal vaccine has been launched.

Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya and Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh launched Bharat Biotech’s ‘Made in India’ COVID-19 nasal vaccine ‘IncoVac’.

Bharat Biotech’s nasal vaccine will not require any injection, it will be given through nasal drops. According to Bharat Biotech, the government will get Rs 325 per dose of the nasal vaccine INCOVACC, while it will cost Rs 800 in private hospitals.

Nasal vaccine can be taken as a booster dose, which will be taken by people taking Covaxin and Covishield. In both the noses, it has to be taken at an interval of 28 days. For example, if a person has already received a precautionary dose, it is not for that person. This is for those who have not yet taken precautionary doses.”

This nasal vaccine was approved by the central government on 23 December.

Managing Director and Chairman of Bharat Biotech Krishna Ella had said that like polio, four drops of nasal vaccine are enough. Two drops will be inserted in both nostrils. This is a single-dose vaccine, because of which tracking is easy.

Its side effects are also less than that of the intramuscular vaccine. Another major advantage of this is that the waste of needles and syringes will also be reduced.
