Bhagwant Mann unravels another ‘pro-Punjab’ decision; People will get ration at their doorstep

Chandigarh: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday announced that people in Punjab now will not require to stand in long queues to get ration as state government would soon start delivering it at their doorstep.

In a video shared by the Mann announced that AAP govt is going to start door-step delivery of high quality ration to poor families in the state.

Mann said the AAP government has decided to make people’s lives easier as earlier daily wagers had to leave work to get ration but now it will be govt’s responsibility.

He said that is what governments are supposed to do and scheme would be rolled out soon after working out the modalities.

CM Mann said that those who lived near ration depots could get it from the depots as earlier while those opted for home delivery will get ration at their doorstep.

Meanwhile, according to government data, there are about 1.42 lakh beneficiaries in the state under the National Food Safety Act. Wheat at 5 kg per beneficiary per month is provided for six months in one go, twice a year.
