The Indian bowler has gained two places in the rankings due to his contribution to the team’s victory by taking six wickets in the second Test against Australia in New Delhi.
Anderson has slipped to the second position in the rankings after England lost to hosts New Zealand in the Wellington Test.
Ashwin has 864 and Anderson has 859 ranking points. Ravindra Jadeja, who took 10 wickets in the second Test against Australia, is ranked 8th in the rankings.
