Amritsar administration bears brunt of Rs 14 lakh for AAP’s ‘Victory March’ in Punjab

Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party, which preaches to be a party of common people, is seems not much different from the previous tradition of spending huge public funds on its promotional events.

In yet another shocking revelation, the Rs 14, 63, 129 of bills have been paid by the Amritsar administration, which AAP spent on‘Dhanwad Punjab Yatra’ even before swearing-in and taking reins of Punjab.

From honouring AAP senior leader with gold plated swords, to arranging their accommodations in five-star hotels and decorating roads with fresh flowers for the party’s ‘victory march’ in holy city, Amritsar, the Punjab Government paid Rs 1, 51, 851 to clear four bills of Taj Swarna, a five star hotel, Rs 4, 83, 800 for decorating roads with fresh flowers, 75,000 for preparing welcome gate, Rs 5, 56, 4241 for arranging tents and chairs, Rs 54, 500 to drummers, Rs 16, 800 for two bouquets of roses, Rs 18,000 for purchasing phulkaries, Rs 34,000 for the purchasing 4 gold plated swords, 45, 398 for installing flex board, 17, 500 to videographers and photographers and 9856 for confectionery arrangements, reveals the RTI filed by Manik Goyal.

Meanwhile, the administration, however, did not give any amount spent on the transportation to ferry AAP workers in government buses from across the state to Amritsar.

AAP leaders including Finance minister Harpal Cheema said that he would look into the matter.
