Amritpal Singh absconding for 14 days, puts Punjab Police in dock with two videos and audio

Chandigarh: Amritpal Singh, who has been absconding for 14 days, has become conundrum for the Punjab Police. The new videos raised questions over intelligence and functioning of the Punjab people.

Two videos of Amritpal surfaced in two days, as well as an audio. Amritpal, a Khalistan supporter and chief of ‘Waris Punjab De’, has been absconding for the last 14 days.

There was speculation that he fled to Nepal after going Haryana, Uttarakhand. But now it is said that he has returned to Punjab again. The police have not yet received any input on the exact location.

Fugitive Amritpal has given an open challenge to the Punjab Police by releasing his video for the second consecutive day. In this, Amritpal is saying that he is not going to surrender. He will come among the people. He will not run abroad.

Amritpal said in Punjabi in the video, “Those who feel that I am a fugitive and I have left my colleagues should not follow this illusion. I am not afraid of death and will soon appear before the world. I will also come in the midst of ‘sangat’.”

Before the second video, an audio of Amritpal also surfaced in which he is claiming that the first video was not made by the police. Some people are spreading confusion about him and there is no condition for his surrender.

“I have requested the jathedar to call sarbat khalsa. If we are going to do politics even today, doing the same thing that we used to do earlier, then what is the point of being jathedar in the future.”

In the first video too, he had tried to argue that the issue was not just about his arrest but also the larger concerns of the Sikh community.
