Ajnala clash: Court orders release of Amritpal Singh’s close aide Toofan

Chandigarh: The Punjab Police has bowed before Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh after yesterday’s clash between his supporters and police outside Ajnala police station in Amritsar.

The police filed an application in the court to release his associate Lovepreet Toofan in the case. After which orders have been issued by the court for the release of Lovepreet Toofan.

The court orders have been handed over to the family. By evening, he will be out of Amritsar jail, police said.

Amritpal’s supporters are expected to gather in large numbers on the occasion. At the same time, Amritpal Singh, head of Waris Punjab De, stayed in Ajnala all night. He spent the night at Baba Deep Singh Gurudwara Sahib and said that he would take the storm along.

Additional police force has been deployed in Ajnala since Friday morning to control the situation.

SSP Rural Satinder Singh himself is present inside the police station. On the other hand, the police station has been completely cordoned off so that Thursday’s incident does not happen again.

SSP Rural Satinder Singh, earlier, said that today the police filed the application for the release of Lovepreet Singh Toofan in the court.
