AAP’s roadshow in Amritsar, Kejriwal promises clean & transparent government in Punjab

AMRITSAR: Punjab Designated Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday gave a clarion call to the people to join swearing in ceremony to be held at Khatkar Kalan, ancestral place of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, on March 16, 2022.

In his address during roadshow, Bhagwant Mann said that the newly elected Government would start functioning from the very first day to cherish the aspirations of people, who have reposed full faith and trust in the policies and programs of Aam Aadmi Party. Mann exhorted the people to reach Khatkar Kalan to take pledge on this historic day for the holistic development of the state and betterment of its people. He said it was AAP, which had broke the convention of organising swearing in ceremony at Khatkar Kalan as earlier such functions were held at Raj Bhawan. He said that this move was primarily aimed at paying glowing tributes to our great martyrs.

Referring to withdrawal of security from 122 political persons, Mann said that as many as 403 security persons had been redeployed in police stations with bringing back 27 police vehicles. He said that these police personnel would work professionally in the police stations to discharge duties related to law & order only. He also ridiculed the previous Governments for befooling the people by asking them to hold Thikri Pehras (night vigil) in villages/mohallas at their own while they were keeping their security intact, who had been staying at the tents pitched outside their residence.

Aam Aadmi Party’s National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during roadshow categorically said that after a long time Punjab had got a thorough honest Chief Minister, who would ensure clean and transparent government.

Arvind Kejriwal said that if any Minister and MLA of his party indulging in malpractices, he would not be spared and sent to jail. Kejriwal further said that it was an established fact that Punjabis are known for ushering in revolution and they had really done so by bringing a great revolution.

Congratulating the Punjabis, Kejriwal said, “Tusin Kamaal Kar Ditta hai (you have done wonders), I love you Punjab’’ as the stalwarts from Akali Dal & Congress including the sitting CM Charanjit Singh Channi have been drubbed in the recently concluded assembly elections. He said that none except Punjbis could have done it like in wiping out both Akalis & Congress.

Kejriwal reiterated that we would soon make a vibrant Punjab (rangla punjab) free from the menace of corruption etc. He said Punjabis would get rid of dishonest and tainted politicians, who had been looting the state with both hands. Kejriwal exhorted the people to reach the Khatkar Kalan on swearing ceremony of Bhagwant Mann as the chief minister. He further said that not only Bhagwant Mann, his younger brother as Chief Minister, rather all Punjabis would also be taking pledge as Chief Ministers.

From now onwards every single penny from the state exchequer would be spent on peoples’ welfare, he added besides all the guarantees/promises would be fulfilled in the right earnest. He,however, said some guarantees would be implemented immediately after formation of the Government while others could take time.
