AAP directed to remove remarks made against Lt Governor

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court, while granting interim relief to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena in a defamation case, also directed senior AAP leaders not to make frivolous statements against the LG and remove tweets and re-tweets of alleged corruption allegation against him and not to post posts against the LG on social media in future.

The Delhi High Court has said that senior AAP leaders had made absurd statements against Saxena.

A bench headed by Justice Amit Bansal restrained the AAP leaders from posting such posts in future, saying prima facie the defamatory tweets and statements appear to have been made to tarnish the reputation of the L-G.

The court directed the AAP and its leaders to remove the tweets, re-tweets, hashtags, interview videos made against Saxena and his family within 48 hours and adjourned the hearing of the case till February 6.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP state president Adesh Gupta said the Delhi High Court has once again come down heavily on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for making false allegations against Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena.
