New Delhi: India reported 7,219 new COVID-19 cases in a day, taking the country’s tally to 4,44,49,726, while the number of active cases dropped to 56,745. According to the Union Health Ministry data updated at 8 am on Saturday, the death toll due to infection has increased to 5,27,965 with 33 patients succumbing to the infection in the last 24 hours.
At the same time, the number of active patients is 0.13 percent of the total infections. The recovery rate has increased to 98.68 per cent. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.98 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.42 per cent, the data stated. At the same time, the number of people who have recuperated from COVID-19 has increased to 4,38,65,016, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.19 per cent.
So far, 213.01 crore doses have been administered under the countrywide covid-19 vaccination drive.
