New Delhi: Pakistan’s cricket team has suffered a major setback before the Asia Cup T20 tournament. Star left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury. Shaheen will also miss the home series against England.
Pakistan’s first match in the Asia Cup is against India on August 28. After this, there will be a clash between the two teams on September 4.
It will take 4 to 6 weeks to return.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a statement on Saturday and reported Shaheen’s exit. The board said that it will take 4 to 6 weeks for the fast bowler to return. After the scan report came, the PCB consulted experts. After this, it was decided that they would not be able to play for a long time.
