New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday held a meeting with top officials of the Navy, army and Air Force and discussed the situation arising out of violent protests in the country due to the Agneepath scheme.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal, R. Chowdhury, Navy Chief Admiral R. Hari Kumar and Vice Chief of Army Staff General BS Raju were among those present.
It is also learnt that the purpose of this meeting is to expedite the implementation of the Agneepath scheme as well as to pacify the protesters. Army chief General Manoj Pandey has been to Hyderabad for office work due to which he could not attend the meeting, officials said.
