New Delhi: In a worrying news for the country, a new case of XE, a sub-variant of Omicron, has now detected in Gujarat, sources in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.
This new variant is more transmissible strain of the coronavirus till date, officials said.
The patient tested who tested covid postive on March 13 and recovered in a week, found to be infected with the XE variant of coronavirus.
Health officials said that his sample will be re-examined to confirm that it is a case of XE variant.
Earlier, XE variant case was found in Maharashtra’s Mumbai.
