New Delhi: Family members of farmers in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident has moved to Supreme court challenging the high court’s order of granting bail to Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni’s son Ashish Mishra.
Family claimed that as the state of Uttar Pradesh, where BJP is in power, did not file an appeal against the impugned order.
According to the case, four farmers and a journalist were moved down by an SUV in Lakhimpur when they were protesting against visit of UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya’s visit on October 3, 2021. Following this, two BJP workers and a driver were beaten to death by mob.
The Allahabad High Court recently granted bail to Ashish Mishra.
