Tarn Taran: A elderly couple living at a farmhouse in Chamba Khurd village in the district was found brutally murded with sharp-edged weapons here.
The deceased have been identified as Harbhajan Singh (600 and Parmjit Kaur (58) of Chamba Khurd village. Their body was recovered by area’s milkman today morning.
As per the police, the couple belongs to Jalandhar district but had been residing here alone. Their son, Gurjit Singh, and daughter-in-law live in the Philippines. Their daughter is also married and lives in Amritsar.
A case has been registered against unidentified persons under Sections 302 (murder) and some other relevant sections of IPC. Meanwhile, bodies have been sent to local civil hospital for post-mortem examinations.
