Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli accused of beating his wife, booked

New Delhi: Former Indian cricket team veteran Vinod Kambli has once again been embroiled in controversy. This time, his wife has lodged a complaint at Bandra police station in Mumbai against him for allegedly abusing and assaulting her under the influence of alcohol.

Based on a complaint by Vinod Kambli’s wife, the Mumbai Police has registered a case against him under sections 324 and 504 of the IPC. Kambli’s wife has alleged that Vinod Kambli threw a handle of a cooking pan at her, due to which she suffered a head injury.

According to Kambli’s wife, the incident took place between 1 pm and 1.30 pm on Friday, when Kambli allegedly reached his flat in Bandra under the influence of alcohol and abused his wife.

After this, he ran to the kitchen and took the handle of the cooking pan and threw it towards her.

Vinod Kambli’s wife got herself treated at Bhabha Hospital before approaching the police, a Bandra police official said.

Meanwhile, Bandra police has registered a case against Vinod Kambli under sections 324 and 504 of the IPC.
