New Delhi: Attacking BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said that over 40 lakh people had lost their lives in the country during the pandemic due to government’s negligence.
Giving reference of a news by The New York Times, Gandhi said that Union government is still trying to cover up their failure by denying the report and also sought a compensation
that 40 lakh Indians died during the pandemic due to BJP government’s “negligence”.
“Modi ji does not speak the truth, he does not let anyone to speak. They still lie that no one died of oxygen shortage! I had said earlier also – 40 lakh Indians died, not 5 lakh, due to the government’s negligence in Covid. Please do your duty, Modi ji and give a compensation of Rs 4 lakh to every victim’s family,” Gandhi said.
