265 tested positive for Covid-19, three people died in last 24-hour in India

New Delhi: In the last 24 hours, 265 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in India. According to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday morning, the number of infections in the country has now increased to 4,46,78,649.

According to the ministry, the death toll rose to 5,30,705 after two deaths were reported from Kerala and one from Karnataka. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.17 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.15 per cent, it said. Officials said that 1,57,671 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases is 0.01 per cent of the total cases, while the national recovery rate has increased to 98.80 per cent.

The ministry said that in the last 24 hours, the number of active patients has decreased by 947. The number of people who have recuperated from the infection has increased to 4,41,45,238.

Over 220.10 crore covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive, the health ministry’s website said.

Significantly, the number of corona virus infections in India increased to more than 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 2020 and more than 40 lakh on September 5, 2020.
