2 lakh home tests in 20 days against 3000 last year in India

New Delhi: Speeding up drive and facilitate people to undergo a Covid-19 test at their door steps, in a bid to contain virus surge, th health department has conducted 2 lakh home tests used in last 20 days, against 3,000 in the whole of 2021.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) director general Balram Bhargava said that the overall testing is being maintained at a level comparable with the second wave across the country.

He said that a few districts and states of the country are witnessing a decline in test performance and a special focus is now being given at these areas and they have encouraged to speed up the drive.

The ultimate aim is to ensure that all residents are safe and if someone including elders and pregnant women are not able to come to health clinics for tests, health officials must visit their homes for the Covid test, if someone is suspecting of the virus, he said.
