Kashmir: Rescue operations are underway in Amarnath after the devastation caused by the cloudburst.
NDRF DG Atul Karwal said that 17 deaths were reported and around 40 people were missing. The rescue operation continued till 4.30 pm, then due to the rain, the rescue operation was stopped and the rescue operation was started from 6 am today.
Meanwhile, more than 15,000 pilgrims have been shifted to the lower base camp and yatra has been suspended temporarily till further orders.
