12 IAS officers transferred after CBI raid at Sisodia’s house, LG issues order

New Delhi: Many IAS officers have been transferred in Delhi. Hours after the CBI raided deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s residence over alleged irregularities in excise policy, 12 IAS officers were transferred on Friday.

Those transferred include Udit Prakash Rai, Special Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, according to a transfer order issued by the Services Department of the Delhi government.

Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena had recently recommended to the Home Ministry for action against IAS Udit Prakash Rai in a corruption case. An official familiar with the development said the reshuffle was not linked to the raid at Manish Sisodia’s house.

Udit Prakash Rai, Special Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, is a 2007-batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre i.e. Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre. Lt Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena had recently recommended to the Home Ministry for action against them.

Among the officers transferred and posted, Vijendra Singh Rawat, a 2007-batch IAS officer, will succeed Rai as the new special secretary of the health and family welfare department. He will also hold the additional charge of Director (Planning). Jitendra Narayan has been made chairman and managing director of Delhi Finance Corporation.

Vivek Pandey , an IAS officer currently posted as Secretary Administrative Reforms, has been appointed as Secretary (IT) and given additional charge of MD (GSDL) and Director (UTCS). According to the order, Sonal Swaroop (2012-batch IAS), who is currently posted as additional commissioner in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, has been appointed as special secretary to the LG.
