Wearing of masks is mandatory in Mumbai, UP and Karnataka states

New Delhi: Amid increasing cases of Covid-19 in China, its fear has also worried India. In China, the sub-variant of Omicron BF.7 is causing havoc. Now India has also become alert about this.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting on Thursday regarding this.

Apart from this, chief ministers and health ministers of many states held a meeting to review the preparedness and protocols for Covid-19, in which it was emphasized to make wearing masks in crowded places, increase genome sequencing and give the third dose of corona vaccine to people as soon as possible.

These meetings were held in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Officials and ministers in many of these states advised to remain vigilant, but said there was nothing to panic. Amid the growing fear of corona virus, the return of masks has started once again.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to carry forward Covid testing and genome sequencing. He has also asked the authorities to ensure that people wear masks in crowded places.

Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar said that wearing masks has once again been made mandatory in indoor areas, closed spaces and air-conditioned areas. The Maharashtra government has also made wearing mass compulsory in crowded places.
