Two Kerala-origin boys drown in Irish lake

Dublin (Ireland): Two boys of Kerala origin living in the UK drowned in the lake in Northern Ireland. Ireland’s public service broadcaster reported that the dead were identified as Reuven Simon and Joseph Sebastian.

They were among a group of six friends who went for a swim on Monday evening.

“Rescue and relief teams arrived at the scene around 6:30 pm after hearing their screams in the water,” northern Irish police said in a statement.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) also informed that a rapid-response paramedic, five members of the emergency service, a hazardous area response team and an ambulance officer were sent to the scene as soon as the information was received. According to police, an air ambulance was also sent to the spot by NIAS.
