Jalandhar: Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia clinched Bronze medal in Men’s freestyle 65kg on Saturday.
Punia defeated Kazakhstan’s Daulet Niyazbekov, 8-0, at Tokyo Olympics. Following this triumph, India has equaled its best ever medal haul of 6 achieved medals in 2012 London edition.
Former Asian Games gold medalist Bajrang dominated the men’s 65kg bronze medal from beginning to finish in the match, which ended in a 8-0 scoreline in favour of the Indian 27-year-old.
Punia is a freestyle wrestler from India and competes in 65 kg weight category. He is the only Indian wrestler to win 3 medals at the World Wrestling Championships .
